Well, 17 tracks is certainly more than usual for Geo but, whatever it ends up being, it’ll be nothing but a pleasure to record. This time around, it turns out, I’m going to set him up to do a bunch of stuff at his home. We’ll definitely track the drums here at BeSharp and he’ll do some bass and vocals at home and we’ll schedule some time to do whatever he can’t do in Bethlehem. I have to say, it’ll definitely be “far” less fun to just work on most of the recording as opposed to all of it. It’s always such a blast to have him in the studio all day.

Yeah, even if I just have to set up my Flip video camera, we’re gonna do something, anything, but it’ll happen, for sure. Hey, maybe we should auction off a skype conference call to sit in live during the making of the album. Hmm… there’s an idea…

Very fun episode. Really, really hoping that we get some kind of video chronicling of the making of the album, but i will be over the moon with more stuff like this if it’s what I have to ’settle’ for.

Hey Guys, thanks for the comments. Yeah, we’ve kicked around the idea of somehow capturing the sessions on video. Naturally, I’ll capture the “making of” in some type of format for the podcast. We’re beginning the new album sessions next week so I’m sure we’ll have to figure it all out pretty soon. I don’t know what the plan will be exactly but, whatever is decided, I’m looking forward to the recording itself, of course. It’s always a complete blast working with Geo. Contrary to the seemingly tame and understated manner presented in the previous episode, we can get pretty silly during the session and, well, I try to keep the podcast as clean as I can without having to bleep stuff too much. (smile) Thanks for listening!

I am a fan of Geo’s so I thought I would listen to your pod cast because he recommended it and he is your friend. I didn’t know what to expect, I thought it might be worth a listen to hear George’s interview. It was so much more! I really liked how your broke down the recording of the song “Far” into each instrument and how you put it all together. To hear the behind the scenes techniques and goings on of producing a song was very cool. Good Job!

Very nice! I love hearing a skilled craftsman talk about his work.

And you and Geo are both so engaging, it seems to me you ought to do something like a DVD commentary track or a “making of” documentary for his next album. It would be instructive for learning musicians and drooling fanboys alike.

I have listened to “Far” and watched the video many times, so it was really interesting hearing it all broken down into its components. Thanks for putting that up.
